Galileo Galilei (Pisa, Italy 1564-1642) is the father of the modern science and scientific revolution. He’s best known for creating the “scientific method” and for fighting against the Roman Inquisition (where he said the famous phrase “e pur si muove!”, which is still used in common modern language) and their geocentrism theories with the new heliocentrism and copernicanism theories. He also invented the thermoscope and used the telescope for observation of celestial bodies and objects, that lead him to discover the phases of Venus, the four satellites of Jupiter, the Saturn’s rings and many other.
