Bronzed Resin Statue finished by hand in each particular detail.
Napoleon Bonaparte (1769 - 1821) was a general during the French Revolution, the ruler of France as First Consul and, from 1804 to 1814, Emperor of France. In 1799 Jacques-Louis David was commissioned to paint this picture. As Napoleon crossed the Alps on a mule, he requested to be "portrayed calmly on a wild horse". The crossing of the San Bernardo Pass allowed France to surprise the Austrian army and win the Battle of Marengo in 1800.
